Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire

This gallery contains 12 photos.

I spent the last Bank Holiday at Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire where they were hosting a Medieval Jousting Tournament. This also included the numerous trades and labourers that were associated with the art of jousting. So from the numerous shots I captured, here are some of my favourites…

This is one of two kittens I adopted earlier this year from a tiny charity called Iris’s Cats in Need. Although we joke that he looks like a Bond villain’s pet in this shot, he’s actually is a very sweet and loving cat unless you’re a small furry rodent or a bird, but that’s just cats for you!

If you’d like to see the work that Iris’s do, feel free to click the following link to their Facebook page.

What happens when you own nosey kittens…

Late yesterday afternoon I was sat outside in my messy, half completed garden with my macro kit randomly shooting flowers to while away an hour or two and to alleviate some anxiety. So just as I fire the shutter, my very sweet but nosey Monty decides he wants to see what I’m doing.

I love a happy accident, but now I’m determined to see if I can get a similar shot of Monty’s sister Milly!

Canon EOS 550D, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 & 20 mm Kenko AF Extension Tube
Exposure 1/1600. Aperture f/2.0, ISO 100
